CALLIOPE I – 19 fevereiro 2006
(Feb 19, 2006)
What does a muse make? A
passing look,
A smell, a sight, a sigh, a taste
never tasted,
A touch never felt, a kiss always
forsook,
A waiving of hair, a nose, a chance
wasted.
Never again to have, a laugh, a
half-promise,
Never a promise to be, a sound, a
half-embrace,
Never a hug to hold, a smile, a
wrong surmise,
A dream fulfilled in sleep, though
lost into a face.
A shadow, never more, the lack of
substance,
A fool's hope, a yearning, desire in
satisfaction
Never to be accomplished, the gift
of a glance,
A couple lines let out, as soon as
taken back,
A sorrow, a sad grin, a glint
in eyes, an action
Scarcely fulfilled by fate naughty
and black.
